PBS nearline storage possible with IBM's DB2 BLU

In the keynote that followed, Prof. Dr. Detlev Steinbinder, faithful companion and co-owner of PBS, announced the intensified partnership with IBM, among other things. As a result, nearline storage is now also possible with the IBM DB2 BLU database both in SAP BW and in ERP with the tried-and-tested Sybase or SAP IQ or with the fast Actian Vector database. This is not only interesting for SAP customers with DB2 BLU.
A further surprise was revealed: SAP HANA can now also be used as a nearline database in all SAP ERP environments. The HANA platform can therefore be used directly in ERP systems with traditional databases for rapid reporting, faster archived data processing and for integrating external data.
New OpenText suites integrate information management capabilities

At its annual Enterprise World customer conference today in Orlando the Waterloo, Ont.-based software company will announce five new integrated business process and content management applications to be rolled separately over the next five months.
Wednesday’s announcement is “the first major milestone towards our strategy to provide a unified suite of enterprise information products,” Ptacek said.
“Ultimately the goal is to have one suite to handle any problem with unstructured information.”
